Botox

Botox® Cosmetic is a purified protein. It is a non-surgical treatment that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in patients 18 – 65 years of age. During treatment, very low doses of Botox® Cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines between the brows. The treatment is minimally invasive and non-surgical. It requires no recovery time and causes little discomfort.

Restylane

Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth(nasolabial folds).

Juvéderm

Juvéderm is a gel made of hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. We use Juvéderm injectable gel under the skin to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds – the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth). Juvéderm is also used to reshape lip contours and increase lip volume. Treat yourself to a fuller, more beautiful smile.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair removal can be done quickly and easily and can now achieve more permanent results. Laser is an improved technique over traditional hair removal techniques such as shaving, plucking, waxing, or depilatory creams which only be temporary. Historically, only electrolysis could permanently remove hair but it took several tedious sessions which were time-consuming and uncomfortable. With the new laser systems we can remove unwanted body hair on most skin types after three to five, sometimes more, treatments. These areas can be treated very safely and easily and with minimal pain. Facial areas, bikini areas, leg areas, and the back can also be treated. the Gentlelase system is the system that we use in our office. It is very safe and FDA approved for permanent hair removal.

Lux Fractional Laser

The procedure is performed while you are awake, you will require a topical gel anesthetic and can expect a minimal discomfort during the procedure. The Palomar Lux 1540 FractionalT laser delivers light in an array of high precision microbeams. These microbeams create narrow deep columns of tissue coagulation that penetrate deep in the skin sparing the tissue surrounding the columns from damage.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing

CO 2 Laser resurfacing is a procedure that has been around for several years that is FDA approved for the treatment of severe wrinkles. With this procedure there will be 1 week of downtime in which the face is raw and oozing and requires extensive would care. The patient will be seen in our office every day or every other day as follow-up after the procedure until their skin is 100% re-epithelialized. Once you are re-epithelialized you must stay out of the sun for 2-3 months after and wear sunscreens thereafter. The procedure is the best procedure known to reduce wrinkles in patients who are good candidates for this procedure. The best candidate is the patient with fair skin with deep wrinkles. As described in our brochures, you will undergo a pre-treatment with Retin-A several weeks to several months before the procedure. This procedure is very, very effective in patients who have deeper wrinkles.

IPL Photo Facial

Intense pulsed light technology is a treatment breakthrough that can correct a variety of benign skin conditions such as facial imperfections, photo-aging, birthmarks, small veins, and other blemishes. It is a safe, non invasive solution tailored to your skin type to provide superior cosmetic results and outstanding satisfaction through a process called photorejuvenation. The photofacial is a beam of light that is not a laser. This means that it is a spectrum of light with several wavelengths. The spectrum of light includes 550 nanometers up to 1200 nanometers. With 550 nanometers the light beam is very effective at getting redness and ruddiness of the skin including rosacea. In the 700-800 range there is pigment absorption with this spectrum of light, therefore, it improves brown spots, sun spots and solar damage to the skin, with 1200 nanometers is a water absorbing technique that helps improve fine lines and wrinkles. The way that this technique works is that the spectrum of light hits the blood vessels and the brown spots and the light is changed to heat energy that selectively destroys these lesions at the level of the collagen beneath the skin. Facial imperfections and discolorations of the skin and rosacea are very effectively treated with the photofacial. It takes approximately 3-5 visits to achieve the best results in most patients and treatments are spaced a month apart. The procedure is not painful. When you arrive at the office a topical anesthetic is applied to your face that is then rinsed off and a gel is applied to your face at which time protective eye coverings are placed. Once the eye coverings are in place then the laser is applied to the entire surface of your face, neck, or hands, or whatever areas are being treated.

V Beam Vascular Laser

The V Beam is a vascular laser by Candela. It’s a pulsed dye laser system for vascular lesions and is used to treat:

  • Rosacea
  • Facial veins
  • Leg veins
  • Scars (acne scars, or C section scars, etc.)
  • Psoriasis
  • Periorbital wrinkles
  • Port wine stains
  • Hemangiomas
  • Angiomas
  • Poikiloderma of Civatte (red neck and chest)
  • Venous lakes
  • Stretch marks
  • Warts

The pulsed dye laser is a system designed to rid patients of benign vascular lesions. How does it work? The laser delivers an intense delivery of yellow light of 595 nanometer wave length of light, therefore, it is a laser with a monochromatic wavelength of light. The light is specifically absorbed by blood vessels in the dermis. These blood vessels are coagulated and then reabsorbed by the body during the natural healing process, i.e. absorbed like a bruise. The treatment is safe and FDA approved. It is basically painless and it is recommended to avoid the sun before and after the procedure a sunblock of 30 spf with zinc or titanium should be used both pre and post treatment and you can discuss this with your physician before your treatment.

Sclerotherapy – Spider Vein Removal

Unwanted blood vessels on the legs can be treated with an injection method. The procedure is called sclerotherapy. One of the several kinds of solutions called sclero skin solution is injected with a very fine needle directly into the blood vessel. This procedure has been used for spider veins since the 1930’s and before that for larger veins. The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel causing it to swell, stick together and the blood to thicken. Over a period of weeks the vessel turns into scar tissue that is absorbed essentially becoming barely noticeable or barely visible. A single blood vessel may have to be injected more than once several weeks or months apart depending on its size. In any one treatment a number of vessels can be treated.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is the most natural way to evenly and safely exfoliate the skin without chemicals or laser and is one of the most requested non-invasive cosmetic procedures. It uses crystals to gently resurface superficial layers of the skin. When a more aggressive treatment is necessary, vacuum pressure can be increased to evenly penetrate deeper layers of the skin. Microdermabrasion revitalizes dull skin, reduces large pores, erases fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, reduces mild pigment irregularities (hyperpigmentation), stretch marks and age spots.

Portrait Plasma Skin Rejuvenation

Portrait Plasma uses plasma energy to deliver true regeneration of a natural collagen and elastin structure of the skin thereby improving contours, tightening skin, smoothing wrinkles and enhancing your overall appearance. It is the first and only cosmetic treatment clinically proven to do all that. The energy of Portrait Plasma uses heat to treat 100% of the targeted area without direct contact to the skin. Plasma energy uniquely preserves the skin’s outer layers which act as a protective dressing until your new healthy skin regenerates.
